Could Not Reproduce Rootwire Amalgam Bug

I just found out that when you have Ugin the ineffable out and Rootwire Amalgam, Ugin makes it only cost 3 generic mana to sacrifice Rootwire. Quite sure this is incorrect but wanted to make it known.

Testing in solitaire appears to show that there is no interaction between these two cards outside of the expected cost reduction from Ugin when casting Rootwire Amalgam without prototype. If I were to speculate on what was happening is that you had at least two green mana floating and the payment auto spent that mana, leaving the prompt to only show the 3 colorless mana as a requirement.
