While playing in a limited challenge my opponent equipped Gimli's Axe to Merry, Esquire of Rohan, which gives Merry first strike and menace while equipped. I destroyed Gimli's Axe with Westfold Rider while it was attached to Merry, but Merry retained first strike for the remainder of the game...
