Not A Bug Samwise unable to return cards sacrificed to Valgavoth ward trigger

Opponent put a Valgavoth, Terror Eator into play off a Show and Tell. I put in Leyline Binding, sacrificing a Name Sticker Goblin, Oliphaunt, and The One Ring. End of turn I cast Samwise the Stouthearted, but it didn't let me return any of the cards I sacrificed.

As Leyline Binding is cast and targets the opponent's Valgavoth, Terror Eater, the three permanents needed to pay for it's Ward ability will be send to the graveyard and then exiled but Valgavoth, Terror Eater before it is exiled by Leyline Binding. So there is no cards available in the graveyard for Samwise the Stouthearted's ability to bring back on the battlefield.
