Not really a bug report but I know DBG reads the forum posts so this should make it to the appropriate people but there has been a significant issue with server performance (i.e. client lag but you know it's server side because of the spinning globe) these past two months and it needs to get resolved as it's causing people to mis-click, lose games, and timeout to the point many tournament players have comment they are no longer playing decks which are usually tight on time as the extra 20% of time you need to take to play around these performance issues causes a match loss.

I thought it was just me but I've noticed more and more MTGO YouTube content creators independently commenting the same on the lag which means is a universally seen problem and one DBG doesn't seem to be addressing given how long it's been going on. And this is a "new" issue, I've been on MTGO since 2005 and I've not seen in this bad in a decade or so for such a long period of time which suggests me to me it's intentional and that's a bad sign of future support as nobody wants to play a laggy game that causes you to lose and I'm going to assume most people would prefer that fixed over some new UI bling.

Yeah, there are these strange 10 second stalls sometimes. Only started happening recently.

Come on Daybreak, it's a Wednesday middle of the day, every back in school, working, or sleeping and the server is barely usable, it's not the weekend with a big tournament or anything. It's been bad all week but today is pretty insane. It's not as a slow as these forums (something that should also get fixed) but still, we are paying for this game, it should be usable.

I'm encountering this as well. It seems to happen during parts of the game that require selecting or clicking, such as scry effects, or even adding floating mana.

According to the MTGO Discord channel, and investigation is in progress. It seems to be network related, as tracerroutes to the MTGO server are routinely dropping, regardless of their point of origin.

That doesn't even make sense, if packets are being dropped regardless of point of origin, that's a server-side issue on the hypervisor or the vhost as loopback and intra-hypervisor traffic via the vswith doesn't transverse the network, that's a processing error either on the CPU or application side or a bad recent driver update in which case you speeddial 24x7 VMWare or Microsoft TAC using your underpriced support contract; i.e. system engineering 101 "Blame the network cuz".

We are actively investigating the problem right now. We will be sending out updates via our social channels as we have them.

Glad to hear but really? This has been going on progressively worse for weeks and just "now" "we" are investigating it?

Until now there has been no clear indication and no major complaints. Lag is part of gaming and is very hard to troubleshoot. There are many factors that go into looking into something and some are out of the company's control. Yesterday was a spike that allowed us to see that there was a problem and so we started working to resolve it.

"We have ID'd and resolved the lag issues. We thank you for your patience & understanding!
" And the issue was?
