Implemented Limited scheduled events need a change.

  • the entry fee and prize disparity from constructed challenges does not at all make up for getting 6 packs of product. and there's such a huge drop from 6-0 to 5-1, that without top 8 playout, a single match loss, especially in the first round, makes playing out the rest of the event feel pointless for many people, not to mention how many people it discourages joining to begin with. 16th/32nd (potentially very last place) gets 150 play points in a constructed trial/challenge In sealed, 3-3, gets 2 booster packs, which even if you consider them at full retail value, is just over half of what doing worse in constructed gets. There are frequently players dropping at X-1. Is there room to wiggle a bit somewhere on the value going in and out of these events? Is there a way to explore getting top 8 draft back? Would making sealed challenges phantom open up space for the prize to get somewhere people can feel good about?

  • With 32 players, which is often the case, it's possible that not a single player even gets 6-0. If bringing back top 8 isn't on the table, is it possible to reconsider the round structure?

  • 2 of the 5 weekly challenges never fire. Can you consider making those trials? Maybe some weekday trials as well?

We've been exploring different prize structures for Limited mid-level events (including introducing some Phantom versions) internally for the past couple of weeks, as well as adjusting min players for those events.

I am less interested in having a Top 8 Draft for Limited Challenges due to the extra time commitments involved. Also, Limited Challenges have been firing at a better rate than they have in quite a while. The 3am PT events have basically never found an audience, so that's the first slot to get a test balloon.
