According to the rules, when your opponent is controlling you, they cannot see your sideboard, no exceptions. This means that if you controll Karn, the Great Creator, they are only supposed to be allowed to get cards from exile with it's -2 ability. However, it seems that in MTGO this is not implemented correctly. In a game, my opponent was able to grab disruptor flute from my sideboard with Karn, the Great Creator while controlling me with Emrakul, the Promised End. Opponent told me that they have been consistently able to do that.

Gatherer ruling on Emrakul, the Promised End:
"Controlling a player doesn’t allow you to look at that player’s sideboard. If an effect instructs that player to choose a card from outside the game, you can’t have that player choose any card. "

Relevant rule (emphasis mine):
720.4. If information about an object in the game would be visible to the player being controlled, it's visible to both that player and the controller of the player. If information about cards outside the game would be visible to the player being controlled, it's visible only to that player, not the controller of the player.

Another Relevant rule I would like to point out is:

3.15 Sideboard During a game, players may look at their own sideboard, keeping it clearly distinguishable from other cards at all times. If a player gains control of another player, he or she may not look at that player’s sideboard, nor may he or she have that player access his or her sideboard.

Being the opponent above it has been brought up in a discord channel (after asking for guidance of how to report) this is a known bug. Neither rule is very known from the reaction seen in discord.

Tag applied: Could Not Reproduce
Testing applied: Build a deck with artifacts in the Sideboard. User 1 casts Karn, the Great Creator. User 2 casts Emrakul, the Promised End and while controlling user 1 activates Karn, the Great Creator's -2 Loyalty ability.
Test Results: User 2 is prompted with the message: "Player may view only their own sideboards. No card can be chosen. (Click OK to continue.)"

Just had this bug again in Game #911307706

My opponent was able to grab my legion extruder from my sideboard then use it to kill my Karn and then also grabbed my disruptor flute again when controlling me again in the same game. I lost the match because of it. Is it possible that the bug requires that specific cards are in the sideboard or that I have the sideboard viewer open before being controlled for this bug to happen? That was the case both times it happened. I could not get a screenshot because replays are disabled.

From the looks of the log in the screenshot, this message did not appear in the game in question.

This will have to wait till replays come back as we need to review matches to see what is going on further. The testing that was done again cannot reproduce this instance.
