Could Not Reproduce Jade Guardian cannot target self or other Jade Guardian with +1/+1 counter

When Jade Guardian (https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=435350) enters the battlefield, it should be able to put a +1/+1 counter on itself. But in MTGO it seems to regard itself and other Jade Guardians as illegal targets.

To reproduce, just cast Jade Guardian into an empty board or a board containing only another Jade Guardian.

Alternatively, cast Jade Guardian when you already control one or more other Merfolk, and notice that you can only target Merfolk not named Jade Guardian.

(I want this for my Proliferate deck in Pauper.)

This works as expected outside of Solitaire.

You are your own opponent in Solitaire mode, so Hexproof keeps you from putting a counter on the Guardian itself
