Installer Issue?

Given I haven't heard of anyone else reporting this issue, there must be something unique to my machine going on here, but...

3 days ago (2/6/2026), I tried installing the patch update, and the installer displayed an error stating that it could not start the Software and advised me to contact the Vendor. I reached out to Daybreak support. After trying all their troubleshooting steps (including uninstalling MTGO completely) and sending them all my log files, they don't see any issue with my PC and referred me here.

It appears the updates downloaded successfully, but as soon as it attempts to commit the installation, it fails.

Attached are my logs. I hope someone can resolve the issue so I can resume playing.

Just off the top of my head, the above Error Message seems to hint you don't have Administrator rights to your own computer.

Yeah, that was the first thing I checked, but even when I run the installer "as Administrator" I get the same issue.

I had no issue installing prior to the Patch, so my system settings are fine.

That was already attempted as part of the troubleshooting progress. That clean install is why I no longer have MTGO installed anymore.
did you do a click once cache clear. Make sure the 2.0 folder was totally deleted and then restart? Just asking because these steps can stop the process from totally removing it from your computer.

any update on this? I miss being able to play
I’ve followed up with the team again. Based on their review of the installer, they’re not seeing any issues on their end.

One thing that did come up with another user yesterday: Windows 11 was creating a new folder with each update and not selecting the correct install directory. In that case, they deleted the 2.0 folder, restarted, and when it reappeared, deleted it again. After that, the reinstall worked properly.

QA also tested this scenario and wasn’t able to replicate the issue, so the dev team is currently investigating why Windows may be blocking or misrouting the install in your case.

I apologize for the delay. I reached out to the team yesterday for an update and am still waiting to hear back. I’ll follow up as soon as I have more information.

Try deleting C:\Users\16165\AppData\Local\Temp\Deployment\GKZ51JDR.8BL\G5TWZ5ZE.N3Y\MTGO.exe and then do a clean install.

So I had some days off work for a medical procedure over the weekend, and I was stressing about it, so I took it upon myself to take a drastic measure for a possible fix.
I backed up my PC, completely uninstalled Windows, reinstalled Windows, restored my lost files, and then reinstalled everything else.
I now have MTGO on my PC again. I still have copies of my old log files from a failed install attempt if you need them.

so the issue per the dev team was that windows was blocking the install which is why they said to delete that file location totally. I am sorry it did not work and you had to go back through and reinstall windows.
