In Progress Illuminator Virtuoso's connive trigger counter bug

Whenever a non-land card is discarded to Illuminator Virtuoso's connive ability, the spell targeting virtuoso will receive the +1/+1 counter instead of virtuoso itself (in my case a Defiant Strike). The game log will also explicitly state that the controller puts a +1/+1 counter on the spell.
This was not an issue before, and this bug may have appeared with the latest update.

Conniving away a non-land card with virtuoso doesn't give it counters as of this morning. Looks like it may be adding counters to the spell that was cast to trigger connive?

Can confirm, the counter is placed on the spell. If it's an aura, it'll enter the battlefield with the counter.

When you target Virtuoso you will get the proper trigger; however if you discard a non-land card the +1/+1 counter is placed on the discarded card and not the Virtouso
