However, if anyone like me is upset that their mono-black burn deck doesn't work, Bloodchief Ascension (cutting fetchlands) is a great alternative.

Yep, can't produce energy. Found this thread when looking into it. Modern mono black burn or similar decks are unplayable until this is fixed. My fav deck rn

Gonti's Machinations trigger to gain energy does not work when I tap pain lands to pay life.

This issue has existed for a few months.

I believe it also effects every type of life loss, even enemies damaging you.

Been playing in Modern Tournament Practice games and noticed my Gonti's Machination cards aren't triggering when I lose life. This is having a negative impact on my mono-black burn deck.
