Any plans to add some missing old-school stuff?

A couple of the more obscure cards from the early expansions from Arabian Nights up to Alliances weren't included in the Masters Edition set releases.

Like for example...
Season of the Witch (!)
Initiates of the Ebon Hand
Soldevi Adnate
Agent of Stromgald
Fatal Lore
Keeper of Tresserhorn
Library of Lat-Nam
Misfortune
Lim-Duls Paladin (!)
Mind Bomb (!)
Wand of Ith (!)
Backdraft (!)

The list of missing things is even longer than this (doubt anyone would miss some of the real stinkers, but a few are quite playable).


Don't think a lot of those would see play, except in some niche Commander decks, but Season of the Witch would be really sweet for Mono B Devotion piles for example. And Blasphemous Act players will love Backdraft. ;-)

My Wishlist for Commander:

1. Please make the game description way bigger. I dont know why people can't read but it's a thing that there is most of the time a person that didn't read the game description and joined with a deck that doesn't fit the bracket and leaves immediately. This is unbearable.
2. Another thing I'd like to see is just have the brackets as the game title with the link on it to click to the bracket system. So you can just start a game and pick bracket 1-5. I really think we have to normalize this. And we don't need weirdly specific game titles like "bracket 2-2.5 but no frogs & otters" or "precons but no extra turn, thiefs and counterspells".
3. As well I'd personally love to see a queue where you buy in for e.g. 2 tix and play for the tix. This would help cEDH players immensely to find a game and have people STAY in the game. It's such a pattern that people just leave if they are not happy with there hand or don't like certain decks or I dunno what there problem is.
4. Not as important but if I could make a wish. I'd like to see those "Duel Commander Trial 16" for Commander. Maybe just once a week on weekends and find out if those fire. Would be great to have some kind of cEDH Tournaments on mtgo.
5. Making auto yields work all the time would be great.
6. And a way to demonstrate loops would be nice as well.

1. and 2. are most important in my opinion.

I don't think it's likely to happen (like the sound of one hand clappin'). (Apologies to Mr. Dylan.)

It's currently an "art royalty" issue, and worse, it's Rebecca Guay art, whom I've heard had a falling out with WotC. WotC would have to re-release the card with new art, and it may not fit the theme of any future sets well enough to warrant a re-release.

Rebecca’s Guay’s falling out with Wotc happened nearly 30 years ago and they’ve long since made up. They poked fun at it in the Unhinged set on Persecuted Artist (which she did the art for) in the mid 00’s and she did the art for Lorwyn Eclipsed’s chase card Bitterbloom Bearer released in January of this year.

So I think its safe to presume they mended that bridge a long time ago. Or to quote Dylan as well, I think their drama is…. Blowin in the wind

Love her art though, I’m thinking of ordering some sort print of her Dark Ritual art from Mercadian Masques. Absolutely gorgeous watercolors. That and Ron Spears’ Island/Swamp from the original Lorwyn set are some of my favorite physical art of all time in general, even outside of MTG.


Oh and to keep it related to the thread- can we get any of the Sonic cards added to the treasure chests? Dr Eggman would be awesome to build a commander deck around. Red blue black are my main colors. So bummed when I figured out this existed but not on MTGO. I’m sure they would be popular to some degree on here!

I just looked on (XBot) and there is both a foil and non-foil more recent art version from Special Guests on there. (XBot) has both of them too. If you go to either of those bots’ website and look up a card, if it exists on mtgo it’s almost certainly searchable on their website.

Maybe sacrifice was recently added but did I notice River Delta and Stench of evil, both from ice age are not on here. Nor any of the Sonic the hedgehog cards but I think that is a licensing thing like Dr who.
