Not A Bug Chord of Calling bug

While attempting to cast chord of calling I tapped an eldrazi spawn token to pay for x, then I selected sacrifice to also pay for X. The eldrazi spawn darkened like I had used the option but the X on chord did not go up and the spawn did not sacrifice itself.

I don't think this is a bug.

Mana abilities need to be Activated {601.2g} before the Total Cost is paid (ie. Convoke) {601.2h}.

• If you sac the Spawn for Mana, you can't use the to be Tapped for Convoke.
• If you save them to be Tapped for Convoke, you can't sac them for Mana for this Spell.

Understood. Sorry I was under the impression that this would work like Wall of Roots. Since Wall of Roots ability happens before the convoke that works and this doesnt. Thanks for the fast answer!
