Resolved Card Zoom stuck on and sometimes black circles

Ever since the last update downloaded, card zoom is stuck on. Whenever I hover over a card, it zooms which is 1) annoying and 2) sometimes causes play errors.
Also, sometimes instead of zooming on a card, it shows a blank black circle larger than a card in the center of the screen (see attached screenshot). I've tried rebooting my computer and the client, but the problem persists and it worked fine before the last update.

Agree, this new feature is pretty bad. Not only zoomed in versions of cards pop up when I don't want it and create distractions, they also prevent me from adding cards from my card pool to the deck by double clicking (if I don't click fast enough). Besides, cards in binders and decks are huge now even at the minimal zoom level. Middle clicking to zoom cards on demand worked perfectly fine, why fix what ain't broken?

I do hope this is changed soon, its REALLY hard to make decks when I can only see a few cards on the screen at a time. I've def seen the black dot as well and experienced everything you're talking about in OP.

I've also found it makes it harder to cast your commander and other spells as it'll keep trying to zoom into the card before you can actually cast anything.

Lol pleeeeease fix this. I just lost a game when I finally had a playable hand with a goofy deck I made because I couldn't cast my commander. It just kept zooming in before I could click cast. I kept trying and trying, I got the "You will be timed out for inactivity" warning, I kept trying and trying and just had to give up after 3 mins of trying to click "cast" while it just kept zooming into the card.

User interface disaster. I can't/won't play while it's like this. Y'all are trying new things to improve and I appreciate that, but this one was a gutterball and should have been considered more deeply before release.

I've scarcely seen any issues that get this many comments and votes this quickly.

Yeah it’s obnoxious and frankly offensive to me that this would ever be considered an “exciting new feature” and not a bug, which is how it should be described. Very demoralizing to see the Mods push back on suggestions that this will be completely rolled back on Tuesday, which is what should happen. Users should be given the option to completely turn off this feature in settings, and go back to the prior functionality (which worked great!)

Amen. Some things DBG since assuming ownership have been an improvement such as getting more cards into the client and likewise better ORCs but things like this though I just don't see the "why" other than new devs wanting to "play". The game has a strong customer loyalty base and making new "features" to drive off your whales to try and woo Arena players makes no sense, even financially. To much time getting spent on new unwanted features and not enough time spent on fixing long standing known bugs and I don't just mean in cards, but things like loop crashes, this very forum which doesn't work most of the time, etc or features people have been asking for for decades that other wont' be named clients have had for about as long such as not just auto yielding, but auto yielding that works PLUS auto stacking complete with auto stacking specific ordering. I mean it's good the client isn't dead on the improvement side but lets focus on improvement active players want.

This is a prime example, there is no universe where this was a good idea outside maybe for new players as many of us don't even look at the cards at level that is even readable, we know them by name and art shape to maximize our screen play mat space, heck most of us would run "text only" if it would speed up the client; hey how about that as an option.

I'm not against all these changes but give people freedom over them, more choices not less. If you want to change the default fine BUT do it for NEW installs, not existing and give people the option to use the new OR old behavior. The old behavior code exists, it's not a big deal to keep it.

I registered for the forums just to post in this thread. Please make this new feature optional. It interferes with deckbuilding (once the zoom pops up it tends to cancel the current double click or drag and drop) and distracts during gameplay. I already know what the cards do. In the rare case that I don't, the old zoom functionality worked perfectly.

It seems related but this frequently seems to cause the client to become unresponsive during sideboarding. I click and drag and then mouse clicks do nothing. I am talking a wild guess that it is because the focus has somehow been stolen by something not rendered and above the client. I've had to reboot MTGO 4 out 5 matches in a league.

It also happens to me. You don't need to reboot though, just switch to main window and back, and it becomes usable again.
