After doing some additional testing removing cards 1 at a time and trying to join games (been having this issue since last night), the issue for my deck seems to be with Hakbal of the Surging Soul. Once I remove the card from the deck and replace with a different card, the deck loads fine and I can join games. Very weird bug.

There was just someone recently on the forum that had this problem, and it does seem like Hakbal of the Surging Soul is the problem.

Neerdiv, Devious Diver can't be used as a commander, creating or joining a game gives an error but it can be run in the 99.

edit: i did more testing and it wasn't neerdiv it was ripples of potential that prevented me from joining or creating a match.

Both my wife and I cannot use certain decks, these decks include Hakbal, Guff, Pir/Toothy. Really discouraging not being able to play. Working on a new for both of us, but hopefully we dont run into other cards that prevent us from joining/creating EDH games

It's not just EDH, having the same issue in legacy as well and the deck was working fine pre-patch. List follows:

Based on Neo's comment my gut tells me it's "Elspeth's Talent" breaking it but I"m not going to take it out, will just play another deck. I really shouldn't have to remove cards that were working just fine a week ago, it's called playtesting DBG and generally it's frowned upon to do it in production as it impacts the customers. Will just wait for some future patch since DBG seems unable to do regression testing pre-patch, something that became normal I don't know, at least thirty-five years ago went I went to school for C but I guess that fell out of favor in the industry.

Regardless though posting the list for the devs so they have more data since they can't seem auto test existing cards in new builds (which blows my mind).

Eol, the card causing you problems in this deck is Ripples of Potential. I tested Elspeth's Talent by adding it to a deck to see if that is also a card causing problems, and that card did not return an error.

Here is another thread where Ripples of Potential was the problem card.

Ah, yeah both were published in the same batch so makes sense. I think Elspeth was published a day later actually hence figured it was that as it seems every card that was released between the last two patches is broken. Didn't expect you to test it lol but regardless ty for narrowing it down.

Hakbal of the Surging Soul is the card causing the error here.

I have the precon sold on the store explorers in the deep and it is not working through reading it looks like it is because of Hakbal I really need this commander to work because i just bought it and it is something i really want to build out.

I cannot join any games with "Firemane Commando" in my deck. What is going on here? is this some type of bug? or is it deliberate?

Just to add to this thread, Illustrious Wanderglyph is also causing this issue. Would be nice to assemble a list of bugged cards causing issues to help with fixing this!
