Not A Bug Bug with holding Priority

Hey,
i played a Match with Belcher. In one of my games i had the kill with casting an EE for free and counter it with "an offer you cant refuse". i clicked for "holding prio" but the EE instantly was resolved and i didnt have the possibility to counter it and get my treasures. i also tried other keys for "holding prio" but in my case it doesnt fit. is it just a bug with the card EE, because it has XX in his mana-costs?

To hold priority, you have to press and hold control throughout the process, starting from before you cast the first spell you wanted to counter. If you did that and it still failed, then it might be a bug with the interaction as you noted.
