Awaken the Maelstrom (the Sorcery backside of the Invasion of Alara Battle) does not create a token copy of permanent controlled by its caster.
There is no prompt to select permanent to be copied at any time during the resolution of the spell.

Unverified - this might be related to not having any Artifact put into play from hand on the previous step of the resolution.

The front side trigger is ALSO bugged and lets you grab a land from among any exiled cards, instead of just grabbing one of the two exiled nonlands.

This seems to indeed be the case, you can see the land gets highlighted after the spell to be cast is selected in the above video, around 23:50
